As you might have heard, the chapter is now allowed to offer continuing education. This is a large step in our chapters’ life as has always been one of our largest goals. The ability to offer state certified continuing education credits at an affordable price is something we can all benefit from.

One way we plan to keep our costs low is to pull form the vast amounts of knowledge already present in the chapter amongst its members. Quite a few of us came from or still operate in the trades that we inspect on a daily basis. We have Journeyman HVAC technicians, Master Electricians, Master Carpenters, Master Plumbers and many others. By pooling from these resources, we will be able to compensate these Instructor members and gain valuable training.

We have also discovered that we will be able certify the Instructor for the class they teach. This means that the Instructor will lose no credit hours for teaching as well as pick up a few extra dollars for their time they put in to preparing a class. We want to promote education from within the chapter, not dread it.

If you feel that you are qualified to teach a class on an area you have professional experience in, please contact Jason Satterthwaite or Todd Freeman and let them know. They will inform discuss the class with as well as work with you on the set up.
